The Pursuit of Artistic Excellence Since 1994, The Journeymen Theater Company has been dedicated to multicultural education through artistic exchange promoting acceptance and understanding for all members of society through its productions and outreach programs.  The Journeymen draw upon humanities in a way that helps the general public understand topics of social concern.  Throughout the years, The Journeymen’s main stage productions have been recognized by the Joseph Jefferson Awards Committee, Chicago’s Excellence in Theater Awards, The After Dark Awards, The Black Theater Alliance Awards and the company received a Special City Arts Award presented by the City of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs honoring a commitment to Artistic Excellence.
The Journeymen Theater Company is a Not for Profit organization supported in part by a City Arts Program 1 grant and a CAAP grant from the Department of Cultural Affairs, the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation, The Alphawood Foundation the Hope Ableson Foundation, The Henry & Rhoda Frank Foundation and the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.
